Question about size

I've been renting my equipment but I feel it's time to get my own and I'm concerned about the sizes. How much headroom should I leave for the future? Maybe I'll gain a few pounds or something like that

Great decision on choosing your own kit. I'd reccommend staying around the middle of a wing's weight range. That way, you'll have a bit of flexibility for your gear or a couple of extra pounds without compromising performanc. If you're too light or too heavy, it can really throw everythin off. Which wing are you considering?

When it comes to sizing, always leave yourself a bit of wiggle room, but not so much that the fit feels sloppy now, you're trying to get a snug but not tight fit, that's the goal. Also you should think about layering too, will you wear it over thermals?

Completely agree, finding that balance of snug but not too tight is essential. I learned this the hard way when picking out a jacket for winter rides, the first one was too loose when I wore thermals, and the second was way too tight without them. Now, I always make sure there's enough space for a base layer without it looking baggy. It's really wise to think ahead about layering
